Eugene’s hung up his suit, grabbed his spikes and he’s preparing for a summer of competition 🤩
Eugene trained and worked as a senior chartered accountant until one day, he took a chance on an old passion.
Sprinting.
As it turned out, he was really (really) good at it.
100m in 9.93s kind of good.
So now he sprints for Team GB, is sponsored by Nike – and TaxScouts.

In 2018, Eugene makes a decision to take up athletics after a pre-season football game and takes part in his first official training session.
Also in 2018, 3 ex-colleagues have an idea. Stress-free, online tax returns.
Eugene gets his first competitive 100m win in 10.93s 🔥
Meanwhile, TaxScouts lands a seed investment round 🌱 and appears on the tube AND gets its first proper “office” (a tiny box room).
In 2020, Eugene wins his first regional title at the Essex Championships in a record time of 60m in 6.63s 🏅 putting him on the radar of renowned world class coach, Steve Fudge. Eugene would later join Fudge’s group, training alongside Olympians.
TaxScouts reaches double figures in staff 🚀 after securing £5m Series A investment from Octopus Ventures.
Eugene takes silver at the Tokyo Olympic British trials, then runs a new pb of 10.20s, winning him silver at the England Championships 🏆
… and TaxScouts goes global! We launch in Spain 🇪🇸 and broaden our horizons to launch UK tax advice. Plus we do our first post-COVID company trip.
On the International Indoor circuit, Eugene runs 60m in 6.60s, making him the 31st fastest Brit of all time in this distance! WOW.
For TaxScouts, 2022 sees a successful crowdfunding campaign and some high profile partnerships. Plus a company trip to Estonia – home soil for two of our founders.
Eugene runs 100m in Graz in 9.93s, making him the 4th fastest Brit of all time in 100m and the 10th fastest European.
Meanwhile TaxScouts partners with Crowdcube to help investors claim tax relief, builds bookkeeping software and now has a BOOMING 💣 accountant community.
Eugene signs with TaxScouts, and then Nike – and then takes a sabbatical from accounting, ready for the summer 🌞🏅
